Disclosing Information without Consent
There may be circumstances where information may be shared without a patient's consent:
- There is a threat of imminent danger to them or others.
- There is a need to investigate a serious crime.
How do you make a decision?
- Consider each individual case.
- Consider both to the law and the particular circumstances of the case.
- Discuss with a senior colleague or line manager.
